This is so cool. I never knew there where so many uses for pallets.  Pallets are both a waste and can be reused or Upcycled.

Unique upcycled garden art

Recently, I wandered down to southern Utah and I came upon a place called "Hole n' the Rock" outside of Moab, Utah. What started out as just a pee break and a quick stop to see some Americana, became an upcycled adventure.

This unique Hole in the Rock is decorated with upcycled treasures. Instantly I was in love with this interesting mixture of art, gardening, and xeroscaping. They even had a house built into the rock that was over 5000sq ft. inside. You wouldn't be able to tell because all you can see is a series of doors. I'd encourage you to stop by if you get a chance since this little place has a great sense of Americana about it.

So here is a few treasures I saw, Enjoy!

Summertime is thankfully approaching and I'm looking at my sad lawn thinking, "What is the best way to revitalize it to beautiful glow?"

I'm starting with a new organic garden. I'm a newbie and this is my first time. As someone who has worked saving rainforests and building ecological models for national parks, surprisingly, I've never built something for myself. All of this ecological knowledge should be put to good use for my lawn and garden.

The best way to start to grow anything is to focus on the soil. Making the soil healthy takes a little bit of work, but the best way is by using organic soil. The soil provides all of the nutrients my new organic garden and lawn needs. So if I want to start at the beginning, I have to start with the soil.

Whitney Farms® has developed a series of organic soils and plant foods that make my life a little bit easier. Some of my friends started with earth worm castings, but since I'm just beginning I want to start simplier with premade organic soil and organic plant food.

Organic Plant Food Their plant food has several benefits like it is easy to apply, doesn't have a manure smell, and has tons of beneficial microbes. More importantly,  it has a protein-based blend that gives the plants both the macro and micronutrients that the plants need to grow.

I want to use something that has no additives, no artificial ingredients and is designed to grow big flowers and plants. At the same time, I don't want to use pesticides or fertilizers that will harm the environment. Whitney Farms® makes organic plant food that should help me get what I want. On top of that they are offering a $3 coupon for anyone new trying their products. It's a win-win for the pocket book and the environment.
